🔥⛽ 9th & GASOLINE IS COMING ⛽ 🔥
Set to make history as the first woman to release an album from prison in the US, B. Alexis' debut 9th & Gasoline is finally dropping February 27th ‼️
HER LATEST SINGLE “BLOODLINE” IS OUT NOW!!
In “Bloodline,” B. Alexis unleashes a resentful, rapid-fire, aggressive flow over intense bass, rolling rhodes, and a soulful sample—turning pain into propulsion.
“I wrote ‘Bloodline’ when I was feeling abandoned by some of my family members. I’ve been incarcerated with a 30-year sentence since the age of 17. In the 16 years I’ve been down, there were some very lonely years. While I’ve made peace with that, it’s still hard watching people go hard for strangers while refusing to support their own blood. That taught me a lot about family. The ones that are chosen are the most precious.” - B Alexis
Her single “I Can’t Lie,” is in honor of her son, Ja’Mir Johnson, who in 2024 was tragically killed at school bus stop.
"I wrote this song in dedication to my son and other children whose parents are incarcerated. The sense of abandonment they can feel by not having their parent can sometimes create a void in them that cannot be fulfilled. I wanted to be honest and realistic with my son - not only about my situation, but about the world in general. These conversations are difficult with any child, but I would rather him hear it from me and generally speaking, I believe honesty builds an unbreakable bond." -B. Alexis
Her first single, “Black Barbie” was an ode to young women across the globe.
“I wrote “Black Barbie” for all the young girls struggling with the beauty standards for women. My hope is that this story helps them embrace their imperfect nature as humans while also using this story as a cautionary tale of the classic saying “everything that glitter ain’t gold”. What matters is what’s inside. True beauty is found in your heart & soul. So continue making people feel your divine femininity through your grace and your kind spirit. Protect it and never let the world strip you of what makes you stunning.”- B. Alexis
